\nAsus vient de pr\u00e9senter sa nouvelle gamme de cartes m\u00e8res \u00e0 base de P45, quelques jours apr\u00e8s MSI.<\/p>\n

Le P45, toujours<\/h3>\n

Pour rappel, le P45 est un des derniers chipsets pour la plateforme LGA775. Il est grav\u00e9 en 65 nm, est coupl\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019ICH10 et supporte la DDR2 et la DDR3. Sur cette derni\u00e8re, quelques nouveaut\u00e9s dans les timings sont disponibles. Notons la possibilit\u00e9 de travailler en 8x + 8x en PCI-Express 2.0 (avec la m\u00eame bande passante que du 16x en PCI-Express 1.1, donc) quand on utilise du CrossFire. \u00c7a change du 16x + 4x des anciens chipsets Intel.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

La gamme P45 : P5Q<\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/span>Asus va propose plusieurs cartes P45, les P5Q. On va retrouver les P5Q Deluxe, P5Q-E, P5Q Premium, P5Q3 Deluxe, P5QC, P5Q et P5Q Pro. Toutes les cartes disposent d\u2019un P45 et supportent les CPU LGA775 jusqu\u2019au bus 1 600 (officiellement 1 333). La P5Q3 Deluxe ne supporte que la DDR3 alors que la P5QC g\u00e8re la DDR3 et la DDR2. Les autres mod\u00e8les se limitent \u00e0 la DDR2. Notons que la P5Q3 Deluxe est livr\u00e9e avec une carte Wi-Fi. Au niveau des options, c\u2019est pl\u00e9thorique : toutes les cartes ont 8 SATA, un eSATA et un PATA, sauf la P5Q Premium qui dispose de 10 SATA. Question Ethernet, la P5Q3 Deluxe, la P5Q Deluxe et la P5Q-E ont deux connecteurs, la P5Q, la P5QC et la P5Q Pro en ont un seul et la P5Q Premium en a 4. La P5Q et la P5QC ont 1 emplacement PCI-Express 16x, la P5Q Pro en a 2, la P5Q-E, la P5Q Deluxe et la P5Q3 Delux en ont 3 et la P5Q Premium en a 4. Attention, le nombre de GPU est limit\u00e9 \u00e0 4 dans tous les cas.<\/p>\n

Asus invente Linux et le RAID<\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/span>Asus propose deux options originales sur ses cartes : l\u2019ExpressGate et le Drive Xpert. Le premier est un syst\u00e8me Linux qui permet de d\u00e9marrer rapidement. On retrouve Skype, Firefox, un lecteur d\u2019image. Sur les cartes haut de gamme, il dispose m\u00eame de son propre espace de stockage. Le deuxi\u00e8me est une jolie astuce marketing : il s\u2019agit d\u2019une puce RAID. Concr\u00e8tement, Asus pense que le RAID fait peur aux gens et propose donc une version camoufl\u00e9e : la puce Drive Xpert permet de faire du RAID1 et du RAID0 facilement, avec des mots comme \u00ab Backup anytime \u00bb ou \u00ab Super Speed \u00bb. Marketingement parlant, c\u2019est bien jou\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Asus et l\u2019EPU<\/h3>\n

Enfin, les cartes utilisent toutes l\u2019EPU, la puce d\u2019Asus qui permet de diminuer la consommation. Une technologie \u00e0 la mode dont Asus a bien \u00e9videmment la meilleure impl\u00e9mentation. Notons que certains mod\u00e8les utilisent un design \u00e0 8 phases mais les Deluxe et Premium travaillent avec 16 phases. L\u2019EPU-6 devrait permettre de diminuer la consommation de la carte m\u00e8re et donc de sauver la plan\u00e8te (m\u00eame si \u00e9teindre le PC est a priori plus efficace).<\/p>\n

Deux choses amusantes<\/h3>\n

<\/span><\/span>Asus, qui a lanc\u00e9 il y a quelque temps une carte son (la Xonar) propose une carte SupremeFX sur certaines de ces cartes R.O.G. (Republic Of Gamer). La SupremeFX est en fait une Creative X-Fi. Quand nous avons demand\u00e9 au responsable pourquoi Asus n\u2019int\u00e9grait pas une carte Xonar, on nous a r\u00e9pondu que le X-Fi \u00e9tait bon pour de l\u2019embarqu\u00e9, mais pas pour du haut de gamme, la cible des Xonar.<\/p>\n
