Actuellement, deux technologies sont de plus en plus utilis\u00e9es dans les \u00e9crans : le DisplayPort<\/strong> et le HDMI<\/strong>, au d\u00e9triment du DVI et de l’antique VGA. Et la compatibilit\u00e9 entre les deux normes \u00e9volue pour prendre en charge les derniers raffinements de la norme HDMI.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Support du 4K<\/h4>\n<\/p>\n

Actuellement, la majorit\u00e9 des prises DisplayPort sont de type \u00ab Dual Mode<\/strong> \u00bb : il est possible de transporter passivement un signal DVI ou HDMI de type Single Link dans une prise DisplayPort, ce qui permet de vendre des adaptateurs DisplayPort ou Mini DisplayPort vers HDMI ou DVI \u00e0 bas prix (en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral moins de 30 \u20ac). Le fonctionnement est simple : la carte graphique fournit un signal DVI (ou HDMI, tr\u00e8s proche) directement et l’adaptateur le d\u00e9tecte. Le probl\u00e8me vient de la fr\u00e9quence du TMDS, qui est au maximum de 165 MHz, ce qui correspond \u00e0 un signal de type DVI Single Link.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Avec un TDMS \u00e0 cette fr\u00e9quence, la d\u00e9finition maximale en DVI ou en HDMI est le 1 920 x 1 200 (environ) \u00e0 60 Hz avec des couleurs sur 8 bits. Pour les \u00e9crans DVI Dual Link qui travaillent dans des d\u00e9finitions sup\u00e9rieures, avec des fr\u00e9quences sup\u00e9rieures (120 Hz) ou pour passer des images en 10 bits, il fallait auparavant des adaptateurs actifs, assez on\u00e9reux (entre 60 et 100 \u20ac).<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Le nouveau mod\u00e8le d’adaptateur, le Type 2, pousse la fr\u00e9quence du TDMS \u00e0 300 MHz, ce qui permet de prendre en charge la norme HDMI 1.4, qui n\u00e9cessite un TDMS \u00e0 297 MHz. Il sera donc possible d’utiliser passivement des \u00e9crans 3D actifs (120 Hz), de g\u00e9rer les images sur 10 bits ou m\u00eame de prendre en charge les d\u00e9finitions Ultra HD et 4K, m\u00eame si le HDMI 1.4 limite la fr\u00e9quence \u00e0 24 Hz quand on travaille dans ce mode.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Les adaptateurs de Type 2 devraient arriver rapidement selon l’association, tout comme les appareils compatibles. Les adaptateurs de Type 2 fonctionneront parfaitement avec les appareils actuels, en attendant des ordinateurs compatibles. Notons que les derni\u00e8res cartes graphiques du march\u00e9 supportent le HDMI 1.4 et qu’une mise \u00e0 jour logicielle pourrait amener le support des adaptateurs de type 2 sur certains appareils d\u00e9j\u00e0 commercialis\u00e9s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
