Il a donc cr\u00e9\u00e9 le Novena, un ordinateur qui \u2014 \u00e0 d\u00e9faut d’\u00eatre totalement open source \u2014 est totalement document\u00e9.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

La machine, dont la coque est imprim\u00e9e en 3D, est plut\u00f4t int\u00e9ressante. La carte m\u00e8re contient un SoC ARM qui a l’avantage d’avoir une documentation accessible librement, m\u00eame si le CPU lui-m\u00eame n’est pas open source. Il s’agit d’un Freescale i.MX6, qui contient quatre cores ARM Cortex A9 \u00e0 1,2 GHz et un GPU de chez Vivante. Des pilotes libres existent, sauf pour le GPU : une partie des fonctions n\u00e9cessite un blob<\/em> binaire pour fonctionner.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Le firmware de la machine est libre et se charge depuis une carte microSD et la carte m\u00e8re propose du SATA (pour un disque dur ou un SSD) et un emplacement SO-DIMM qui accepte de la DDR3 classique. Il est possible d’installer jusqu’\u00e0 4 Go de m\u00e9moire DDR3-1066. En interne, on trouve de l’USB 2.0 (pour le clavier et le trackpad), du LVDS (pour l’\u00e9cran) et du PCI-Express via<\/em> un connecteur Mini Card.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

En externe, on trouve une sortie HDMI, deux ports USB 2.0, un lecteur de cartes SD et une prise jack. L’acc\u00e8s \u00e0 une puce FPGA, deux prises Ethernet (1 gigabit\/s et 100 m\u00e9gabits\/s) ainsi qu’un port USB OTG sont aussi de la partie. Pour la batterie, un PCB d\u00e9di\u00e9 est int\u00e9gr\u00e9, pour connecter les batteries utilis\u00e9es traditionnellement dans le monde du mod\u00e9lisme.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Toute la partie logicielle est open source et est \u00e9videmment disponible<\/a>, tout comme les sch\u00e9mas pour se construire la carte m\u00e8re.
