Intel va-t-il d\u00e9coder le HEVC\/H.265 ? Dans la derni\u00e8re version des pilotes pour ses IGP, Intel indique en effet que les pilotes sont capables de d\u00e9coder les vid\u00e9os en HEVC (H.265) en utilisant le GPU. Cette fonction est support\u00e9e officiellement par certains IGP int\u00e9gr\u00e9s dans les processeurs Haswell, les GT2, GT3 et GT3e, soit les puces Intel HD 4×00 (pas les Intel HD 4000, donc, uniquement les versions 4200, 4400 et 4600), les Intel HD 5000, les Iris et les Iris Pro, sauf quand le GPU est utilis\u00e9 dans un processeur basse consommation de la famille Y.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Un support pas encore test\u00e9<\/h3>\n<\/p>\n

Pour le moment, le support est tr\u00e8s th\u00e9orique : nous n’avons pas pu trouver d’exemples de situations o\u00f9 le d\u00e9codage est actif. De plus, Intel reste assez \u00e9vasif sur le d\u00e9codage en question : est-ce qu’il s’agit d’un d\u00e9codage mat\u00e9riel avec une unit\u00e9 d\u00e9di\u00e9e (peu probable), un d\u00e9codage qui utilise les unit\u00e9s programmables du GPU ou simplement un d\u00e9codage semi-mat\u00e9riel qui utilise le processeur et les unit\u00e9s de calcul des GPU ?<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\"ImageLa TNT UHD en H.265<\/span><\/span><\/span>Dans tous les cas, le d\u00e9codage du HEVC est le prochain grand chantier dans le monde des GPU : le codec commence \u00e0 \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 commercialement (les tests de TNT en Ultra HD l’utilisent<\/a>) et les processeurs actuels ont beaucoup de mal \u00e0 d\u00e9coder les flux avec les solutions logicielles disponibles. Les raisons sont multiples, mais le HEVC utilise des algorithmes plus complexes que le H.264 et les flux actuels sont aussi nettement plus \u00e9volu\u00e9s. Pour la TNT, par exemple, les diffusions en haute d\u00e9finition sont en 1 920 x 1 080 \u00e0 25 images par seconde avec une image entrelac\u00e9e alors que les tests en Ultra HD sont en 3 840 x 2 160 \u00e0 50 images\/s en progressif, donc avec 50 images compl\u00e8tes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Si le d\u00e9codage d’Intel est efficace \u2014 ce qui n’est donc pas encore prouv\u00e9 \u2014, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 prendra l’avantage sur NVIDIA et AMD. En effet, AMD n’a pas de cartes capables de d\u00e9coder le H.265\/HEVC et NVIDIA indique que seuls les GPU de la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration Maxwell (GeForce GT 750) sont capables de d\u00e9charger le processeur, ce qui indique une acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration partielle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
