\"ImageBristlecone de Google<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Google pr\u00e9sente Bristlecone, son premier processeur quantique int\u00e9grant 72 qubits<\/strong>. Il devance ainsi la puce \u00e0 49 qubits d\u2019Intel montr\u00e9e au CES 2018. N\u00e9anmoins, la force du nouveau composant ne r\u00e9side pas seulement dans son nombre de qubits, mais aussi dans son taux d\u2019erreur qui serait aussi faible que sur sa puce \u00e0 9 qubits. Google explique<\/a> \u00eatre toujours en train de la tester, mais si ses pr\u00e9visions sont correctes, Bristlecone serait le premier processeur \u00e0 atteindre la supr\u00e9matie quantique.<\/p>\n

\u00c9tape symbolique<\/h3>\n

\"ImageInstallation de Bristlecone<\/span><\/span><\/span>La supr\u00e9matie quantique est ce moment o\u00f9 un processeur quantique r\u00e9soudra un probl\u00e8me informatique plus rapidement que le plus puissant des supercalculateurs simulant un processeur quantique. Aujourd\u2019hui, un supercalculateur peut simuler 46 qubits, mais ajouter un qubit \u00e0 la simulation demande de doubler la quantit\u00e9 de RAM utilis\u00e9e. En cons\u00e9quence, il n\u2019y a pas assez de RAM dans les syst\u00e8mes d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui pour simuler 72 qubits, laissant penser que Bristlecone peut \u00eatre plus rapide qu\u2019un supercalculateur et ainsi atteindre la supr\u00e9matie quantique.<\/p>\n

Corrigez-moi !<\/h3>\n

Le nombre de qubits ne fait tout de m\u00eame pas tout, puisqu\u2019il faut aussi un taux d\u2019erreur en lecture de 1 % ou moins. La puce \u00e0 9 qubits de Google avait de telles performances et la firme esp\u00e8re maintenir ce taux d\u2019erreur sur son nouveau mod\u00e8le. En revanche, elle explique aussi qu\u2019il faudra des processeurs \u00e0 plusieurs milliers de qubits et des taux d\u2019erreur de moins de 0,01 % pour que l\u2019informatique quantique d\u00e9passe le cadre des laboratoires. Bref, m\u00eame si ce domaine avance vite, sa d\u00e9mocratisation demandera encore une d\u00e9cennie.<\/p>\n
