Les processeurs Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) de Google d\u00e9barquent dans leur troisi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration pour le machine learning<\/em>, annonc\u00e9e huit fois plus rapides que les pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents TPU 2.0 annonc\u00e9s l’an dernier seulement. Selon Google ces puces auront un refroidissement liquide, et pourront fournir des blocs de 100 PFLOPS (p\u00e9taflops), nomm\u00e9s TPU Pod. Des p\u00e9taflops en TensorFlow \u00e9videmment. <\/p>\n

Peu de d\u00e9tails techniques<\/h3>\n

Les pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents TPU 2.0 d\u00e9gageaient 45 TFLOPS par puces, 180 TFLOPS par modules de 4, et 11,5 PFLOPS par TPU Pod de 64 modules (256 puces TPU). Google annonce aujourd’hui un TPU Pod \u00e0 plus de 100 PFLOPS avec les TPU 3.0, ce qui correspond \u00e0 peu pr\u00e8s \u00e0 l’annonce de performances huit fois sup\u00e9rieure. Du coup, si ce Pod a le m\u00eame nombre de 256 TPU, un seul TPU 3.0 serait capable d’offrir \u00e0 lui seul 360 TFLOPS TensorFlow environ, mais Google n’apporte pas plus de d\u00e9tails techniques pour l’instant. Comparativement, un DGX-1 de NVIDIA apporte 1 PFLOPS de puissance TensorFlow sur huit GPU<\/a>, soit environ 125 TFLOPS par GPU.<\/p>\n

Notez que ces puces ne seront pas en vente \u00e0 l’industrie, simplement disponibles via la location de ressources de calcul sur Google Cloud.<\/p>\n
