En mai dernier, NVIDIA avait officialis\u00e9 son Ampere A100<\/a>, un GPU comprenant 54 milliards de transistors muni de 40 Go de m\u00e9moire HBM2. \u00c0 l\u2019occasion du SC20, NVIDIA a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une nouvelle variante de ce GPU : elle est arm\u00e9e de deux fois plus de m\u00e9moire, 80 Go de m\u00e9moire, qui plus est de type HBM2E. La vitesse passe ainsi de 2,4 Gbit\/s \u00e0 3,2 Gbit\/s, ce qui augmente la bande passante m\u00e9moire \u00e0 2 To\/s contre 1,6 To\/s pour la premi\u00e8re it\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toujours destin\u00e9e aux plateformes de calcul intensif IA, cette A100 mieux achaland\u00e9e en VRAM devrait pouvoir traiter une quantit\u00e9 de donn\u00e9es encore plus cons\u00e9quente. Pour le reste, les sp\u00e9cifications sont identiques \u00e0 l\u2019actuel A100. On retrouve donc les 6 912 c\u0153urs CUDA FP32, une fr\u00e9quence GPU de 1,41 GHz pour une puissance de calcul simple pr\u00e9cision de 19,5 TFLOPS. Notez que les deux solutions cohabiteront dans les prochains mois : l\u2019A100 donc il est question ici ne remplace pas l\u2019ancien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des GPU grav\u00e9s en 7 nm par TSMC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Le site AnandTech<\/a> a \u00e9labor\u00e9 le tableau ci-dessous pour faciliter la comparaison entre les deux versions. Si pour se fournir en m\u00e9moire HBM2E, NVIDIA s\u2019approvisionne apparemment aupr\u00e8s de Samsung (celle de SK Hynix offre une vitesse m\u00e9moire de 3,6 Gbit\/s), qui se charge \u00e9galement de graver les RTX 3000 Ampere pour les particuliers en 8 nm, la production de ces GPU A100 revient \u00e0 TSMC, et en 7 nm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
