\u00c0 l\u2019occasion du Supercomputing 2020, Intel a donn\u00e9 de nouveaux d\u00e9tails sur ses futurs processeurs Xeon Scalable de troisi\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, les Ice Lake-SP. Grav\u00e9s en 10 nm SuperFin, ceux-ci d\u00e9barqueront au cours du premier trimestre 2021. Cette gamme contiendra des puces avec au mieux 32 c\u0153urs ; mais d\u2019apr\u00e8s Intel, un Ice Lake-SP \u00e0 32 c\u0153urs est plus performant qu\u2019un processeur EPYC d\u2019AMD \u00e0 64 c\u0153urs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En effet, une diapositive stipule que deux processeurs Xeon Ice Lake cadenc\u00e9s \u00e0 2,2 GHz et associ\u00e9s \u00e0 256 Go de DDR4-3400 d\u00e9livrent 20-30 % de performances en plus que deux processeurs 64 c\u0153urs AMD EPYC 7742<\/a> \u00e0 2,25 GHz, eux aussi \u00e9paul\u00e9s par la m\u00eame quantit\u00e9 de m\u00e9moire, mais en DDR4-3200. La clef de cette r\u00e9ussite : une architecture CPU Sunny Cove qui remplacera la vieillissante Skylake combin\u00e9e \u00e0 une finesse de gravure r\u00e9duite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il faudra toutefois voir ce que valent ces Ice Lake-SP dans d\u2019autres tests. Cet \u00e9t\u00e9, nous avions d\u00e9j\u00e0 crois\u00e9 des processeurs Xeon Ice Lake-SP affrontant une puce EPYC Rome sur Geekbench ; il ne s\u2019agissait que de puces 28 c\u0153urs pour Intel, mais m\u00eame \u00e0 deux contre un, elles \u00e9taient loin de surclasser leur rival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les diapositives nous apprennent \u00e9galement que ces Xeon Ice Lake-SP sont capables de g\u00e9rer jusqu\u2019\u00e0 huit canaux de m\u00e9moire DDR4-3200 pour une capacit\u00e9 totale de 6 To. Ils prennent \u00e9galement en charge l\u2019interface PCIe 4.0 sur 64 lignes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
