Avec son TGB de 450 W, la Galax GeForce RTX 3090 HOF Extreme Limited Edition<\/a> en a d\u00e9j\u00e0 sous le capot. Sa fr\u00e9quence Boost monte \u00e0 1 860 MHz, soit 160 MHz de plus que la RTX 3090 Founders Edition<\/a>. Une utilisatrice a toutefois tent\u00e9 une petite exp\u00e9rience : elle a pouss\u00e9 la limite de puissance de sa carte \u00e0 1 000 watts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ainsi lib\u00e9r\u00e9e, sa RTX 3090 est capable d\u2019atteindre une fr\u00e9quence de 2 010 MHz et d\u2019engloutir jusqu\u2019\u00e0 630 watts ; 200 watts pour 140 MHz grappill\u00e9s, on aura vu mieux en mati\u00e8re d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique ! Mais le v\u00e9ritable probl\u00e8me est la temp\u00e9rature. Logiquement, ce surplus de puissance g\u00e9n\u00e8re plus de chaleur. Avec le BIOS d\u2019origine, le GPU, bien refroidi par la solution \u00e0 trois ventilateurs, n\u2019exc\u00e8de pas les 69\u00b0C. Or, il monte \u00e0 96\u00b0C dans le test \u00e0 1 000 W.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brancher une RTX 3090 au port M.2 d\u2019un PC portable, c\u2019est possible et efficient<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Un GPU en surchauffe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sans surprise, le GPU Ampere de la RTX 3090 n\u2019est pas tr\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019aise \u00e0 une temp\u00e9rature aussi \u00e9lev\u00e9e ; logiquement, cela se ressent dans ses performances. Sur 3DMark Fire Strike Ultra et Time Spy, cette RTX 3090 avec son BIOS modifi\u00e9 se montre \u00e0 peine 3 % sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 la version d\u2019origine. Idem dans des jeux comme Cyberpunk 2077 ou Shadow of the Tomb Raider, o\u00f9 elle offre un gain d\u2019images par seconde d\u2019environ 2 %.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bref, pour tirer le maximum de ce regain de puissance, une solution de refroidissement plus performante comme de l\u2019azote liquide s\u2019impose. Les overclockeurs OGS (HwBox Hellas OC Team) et Rauf (Alza OC) l\u2019avaient d’ailleurs prouv\u00e9. Ils avaient pouss\u00e9 leur exemplaire HoF \u00e0 3 GHz<\/a> et \u00e9tabli plusieurs records du monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
