Le titre Star Wars Jedi Knight II : Jedi Outcast rappellera sans doute de bons souvenirs \u00e0 certains d\u2019entre nous ; en revanche, sa date de sortie nous donne un petit coup de vieux : 2002. Autant dire que visuellement, le jeu nous plonge bien dans une galaxie lointaine, tr\u00e8s lointaine. Bonne nouvelle, un moddeur r\u00e9pondant au nom de Zyanide \u0153uvre actuellement sur un remaster avec force de lancer de rayons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Comme le pr\u00e9cise l\u2019auteur sur son site consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 ce projet<\/a>, la vid\u00e9o et les images ci-dessus n\u2019ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 prises \u00e0 partir d\u2019un \u00ab simple \u00bb mod path tracing \u00e0 la mani\u00e8re de ce que propose Reshade par exemple : puisque Star Wars Jedi Knight II : Jedi Outcast fonctionne sous le moteur Quake III, Zyanide a d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019incorporer le ray tracing en se basant sur Quake II RTX (Q2RTX’s path tracer).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quid de la configuration ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Zyanide \u00e9voque les raisons qui l\u2019ont pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 se lancer dans ce projet en ces termes\u00a0: “J’ai toujours consid\u00e9r\u00e9 le ray tracing comme le Graal du graphisme et maintenant qu’il peut \u00eatre r\u00e9alis\u00e9 en temps r\u00e9el, je voulais tout savoir sur cette nouvelle technologie. [\u2026] j’ai d\u00e9couvert que le code de Jedi Outcast avait \u00e9t\u00e9 rendu open source et, comme j’aime ce jeu, j’ai d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de combiner ces deux \u00e9l\u00e9ments.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Son projet est toujours en phase d\u00e9veloppement et n\u2019est donc pas propos\u00e9 en t\u00e9l\u00e9chargement pour le moment. En outre, il ne pr\u00e9cise pas la configuration utilis\u00e9e pour faire fonctionner le titre par\u00e9 de ray tracing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
