Avant la fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e, Intel doit mener une offensive un peu plus ordonn\u00e9e qu\u2019avec ses DG1<\/a> sur le secteur des cartes graphiques d\u00e9di\u00e9es avec une armada de DG2 (Xe-HPG). Pour l\u2019instant, les donn\u00e9es les concernant restent assez vagues, mais nous savons quand m\u00eame de source fiable (Igor Wallossek) qu\u2019Intel pr\u00e9pare au moins cinq cartes graphiques Intel DG2, avec des r\u00e9f\u00e9rences munies de 128 \u00e0 512 UE (unit\u00e9s d\u2019ex\u00e9cution) et de 4 \u00e0 16 Go de VRAM<\/a>. De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, la cha\u00eene YouTube Moore’s Law Is Dead pr\u00e9tend livrer la premi\u00e8re image d’une DG2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Aucune mention sur le PCB n\u2019indique qu\u2019il s\u2019agit bien de celui d\u2019une DG2 ; recevez donc cette image avec prudence. Maintenant, Moore\u2019s Law is Dead a sans doute sciemment cach\u00e9 toutes donn\u00e9es pouvant permettre d\u2019identifier sa source. En tout cas, visuellement, on d\u00e9tecte bien les DisplayPort et HDMI, deux blocs de VRM ainsi que les puces m\u00e9moire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Intel reste leader du Top 15 des vendeurs de semi-conducteurs mais Samsung gagne du terrain<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au sujet des sp\u00e9cifications, l\u2019auteur \u00e9voque lui aussi une DG2 \u00e9quip\u00e9 de 512 UE et de 16 Go de GDDR6 sur un bus de 256 bits. Elle serait grav\u00e9e par TSMC, soit en 6 nm soit en 7 nm. Son TDP avoisinerait les 235 W.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour les performances de ce mod\u00e8le, Moore\u2019s Law is Dead r\u00e9it\u00e8re sa comparaison avec la RTX 3070 Ti qu\u2019il avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 formul\u00e9e en avril<\/a> ; bon, d\u00e9sormais, cette r\u00e9f\u00e9rence NVIDIA n\u2019est plus une chim\u00e8re. Enfin, si les cartes graphiques d\u2019Intel prendront en charge le ray tracing au niveau mat\u00e9riel<\/a>, Moore\u2019s Law is Dead pense que NVIDIA conservera son leadership sur ce segment. Rien de tr\u00e8s \u00e9tonnant : comme l\u2019ont prouv\u00e9 les Radeon 6000 d\u2019AMD, il faudra s\u00fbrement quelques g\u00e9n\u00e9rations \u00e0 Intel avant que ses GPU soient en mesure de concurrencer frontalement ceux de NVIDIA sur ce terrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quelques mots sur le calendrier pour terminer. Intel pr\u00e9voirait bien un lancement en fin d\u2019ann\u00e9e, mais avec des volumes assez limit\u00e9s. Il faudrait patienter jusqu\u2019au premier trimestre 2022 pour voir l\u2019offre s\u2019\u00e9toffer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
