Mise \u00e0 jour :<\/strong> AMD nous a fait parvenir le communiqu\u00e9 suivant : “AMD sait que certains utilisateurs ayant install\u00e9 la version initiale de Windows 11 sur les syst\u00e8mes \u00e9quip\u00e9s de processeurs AMD compatibles pourront \/ seront susceptibles de noter un impact sur les performances de certaines de leurs applications. AMD et Microsoft ont identifi\u00e9 deux probl\u00e8mes sur lesquels les deux soci\u00e9t\u00e9s travaillent \u00e9troitement pour proposer les mises \u00e0 jour correctives adapt\u00e9es comme d\u00e9taill\u00e9 ici<\/a>“.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00e9cid\u00e9ment, Windows 11<\/a> ne semble gu\u00e8re appr\u00e9cier les processeurs AMD. Non content de bouder les Ryzen 1xxx, le nouveau syst\u00e8me d\u2019exploitation de Microsoft bride les performances des processeurs Ryzen de l\u2019entreprise : la baisse serait de 10-15 % en jeu. Ce d\u00e9sagr\u00e9ment a \u00e9t\u00e9 directement document\u00e9 par AMD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMD liste<\/a> deux probl\u00e8mes principaux. Le premier est une augmentation de la latence “mesur\u00e9e et fonctionnelle”<\/em> du cache L3 d\u2019environ 3X. En pratique, cela se mat\u00e9rialise par un impact sur les performances de 3 \u00e0 5 % dans certaines applications et de 10 \u00e0 15 % dans les jeux, notamment ceux estampill\u00e9s e-sport. Le second est une mauvaise gestion de l\u2019UEFI CPPC2 (c\u0153urs pr\u00e9f\u00e9rentiels). Concr\u00e8tement, cette fonctionnalit\u00e9 g\u00e9r\u00e9e par l\u2019OS distingue les deux meilleurs c\u0153urs d\u2019un processeur, ceux aptes \u00e0 supporter les fr\u00e9quences les plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es, et r\u00e9partit les charges de travail sur les diff\u00e9rents c\u0153urs en cons\u00e9quence. Selon AMD, ce souci peut r\u00e9duire les performances sur les “applications sensibles aux performances d’un ou de quelques threads” <\/em>; il serait surtout impactant pour les processeurs \u00e0 plus de 8 c\u0153urs et 65 W de TDP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des correctifs pr\u00e9vus avant la fin du mois<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Heureusement, dans les deux cas, AMD indique qu\u2019une mise \u00e0 jour logicielle peut r\u00e9soudre le probl\u00e8me ; des correctifs arriveront dans le courant du mois d\u2019octobre. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 ne pr\u00e9cise pas l’origine de ces dysfonctionnements. Comme mentionn\u00e9 ci-dessus, ils concernent tous les processeurs d\u2019AMD officiellement compatibles Windows 11 ; autrement dit ceux sous architectures Zen+, Zen 2 et Zen 3 (Ryzen 2000, Ryzen 3000, Ryzen 4000 et Ryzen 5000). Selon nos confr\u00e8res de Tom’s Hardware US, des processeurs AMD EPYC destin\u00e9s aux centres de donn\u00e9es et quelques puces Athlon seraient \u00e9galement affect\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
