En janvier dernier, nous apprenions qu\u2019AMD planchait sur une technologie baptis\u00e9e RAMP<\/a>, acronyme de Ryzen Accelerated Memory Profile<\/em>. Cette appellation apparaissait dans un fichier HWiNFO V7.17 Beta. Finalement, le nom de cette technologie pourrait \u00eatre diff\u00e9rent : EXPO, pour EXtended Profiles for Overclocking.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

En l\u2019\u00e9tat, impossible de savoir si les termes AMD EXPO est RAMP d\u00e9signent la m\u00eame chose ou deux technologies diff\u00e9rentes. Comme le fait remarquer notre confr\u00e8re du site VideoCardz, AMD EXPO avait fait l\u2019objet d\u2019un d\u00e9p\u00f4t en f\u00e9vrier dernier. Dans les deux cas, ces technologies s\u2019apparentent au pendant de l\u2019Intel XMP 3.0. Selon notre confr\u00e8re, l\u2019AMD RAMP s\u2019articulerait autour de deux profils d\u2019overclocking : l\u2019un mettrait l\u2019accent sur une bande passante \u00e9lev\u00e9 (fr\u00e9quences), l\u2019autre sur une latence faible (latence CAS). Toujours d\u2019apr\u00e8s VideoCardz, EXPO fonctionnerait avec tous les types de m\u00e9moire DDR5, y compris UDIMM, RDIMM et SO-DIMM. Autrement dit, EXPO pourrait \u00eatre \u00e9galement support\u00e9 par les ordinateurs portables \u00e0 terme. Actuellement, rappelons que les Ryzen 6000 “Rembrandt”<\/a> se limitent \u00e0 une prise en charge de la DDR5-5200 \/ LPDR5-6400.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e9cemment, Joseph Tao, Memory Enabling Manager<\/em> chez AMD, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que les Ryzen 7000 Raphael mettraient l\u2019accent sur l\u2019overclocking m\u00e9moire<\/a>, sans toutefois communiquer de valeurs pr\u00e9cises. Aujourd\u2019hui, nous avons appris (de source non officielle) que la plateforme desktop AM5 se cantonnerait au support de la DDR5<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chez Intel, les processeurs Alder Lake desktop prennent officiellement en charge la DDR4-3600 et la DDR5-4800. Concernant l\u2019Intel XMP, l\u2019entreprise d\u00e9finit la technologie<\/a> ainsi : “Intel Extreme Memory Profile (Intel XMP) vous permet d’overclocker les modules de m\u00e9moire DDR4\/DDR5 compatibles pour am\u00e9liorer les fonctionnalit\u00e9s de jeu int\u00e9gr\u00e9es aux PC dot\u00e9s de processeurs Intel Core. Vous pouvez charger des profils de m\u00e9moire Intel Extreme Memory Profile (Intel XMP) pr\u00e9d\u00e9finis et test\u00e9s, en utilisant le BIOS ou une application de r\u00e9glage sp\u00e9cifique.
