Depuis quelques mois, les marques proposent des alimentations PCIe 5.0 \/ ATX 3.0 munies d\u2019un connecteur d\u2019alimentation 12VHPWR (16 broches, 12+4)<\/a>. Celui-ci peut d\u00e9livrer jusqu\u2019\u00e0 600 W. Pour les anciens blocs d\u2019alimentation, il existe des adapteurs 12-pins \/ 8-pins. La GeForce RTX 3090 Ti MSI<\/a> que nous avons test\u00e9e par exemple est livr\u00e9e avec un adaptateur d\u2019alimentation 3x 8-pins vers 12+4 pins PCIe 5.0. Le PCI-SIG s\u2019inqui\u00e8te toutefois d’\u00e9ventuels probl\u00e8mes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 pour ces dispositifs.<\/p>\n\n\n

Bien que les sp\u00e9cifications PCI-SIG fournissent les informations n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 l’interop\u00e9rabilit\u00e9, elles ne pr\u00e9tendent pas englober tous les aspects d’une conception ad\u00e9quate, s’appuyant sur de nombreuses m\u00e9thodes et pratiques de conception standard les mieux connues de l’industrie. Comme les groupes de travail PCI-SIG sont compos\u00e9s de nombreux experts dans le domaine de la conception des connecteurs et des syst\u00e8mes, ils examineront les informations disponibles sur ce probl\u00e8me industriel et contribueront \u00e0 sa r\u00e9solution dans la mesure appropri\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Au fur et \u00e0 mesure de l’\u00e9mergence de nouveaux \u00e9l\u00e9ments, PCI-SIG pourra fournir d’autres mises \u00e0 jour. En attendant, nous recommandons aux membres de travailler en \u00e9troite collaboration avec leurs fournisseurs de connecteurs et de faire preuve de prudence dans l’utilisation de connexions \u00e0 haute puissance, en particulier lorsque des probl\u00e8mes de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 peuvent exister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attention, toutes les alimentations \u2018PCIe 5.0 Ready\u2019 ne se valent pas<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quel est le probl\u00e8me ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Officiellement, un c\u00e2ble 8 broches est fait pour d\u00e9livrer une puissance maximale de 150 W. Pour fournir 450 W sur un connecteur 12VHPWR depuis une alimentation qui n\u2019en poss\u00e8de pas, il faut donc relier trois c\u00e2bles ; 600 W, quatre c\u00e2bles. Or, les investigations men\u00e9es par notre confr\u00e8re de WCCFTech montrent qu\u2019\u00e0 des puissances de 450 W et 600 W, certains connecteur 8 broches envoie plus que 150 W. En outre, la puissance n\u2019est pas bien r\u00e9partie entre les connecteurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voici les r\u00e9sultats des mesures :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecteur 12VHPWR vers adaptateur 2 x 8-Pin dans une charge d’essai de 600 W :
1 connecteur 8 broches = 25,4 A ou 304,8 W (2x plus que la valeur nominale de 150 W)
1 connecteur 8 broches = 25,1 A ou 301,2 W (2x plus que 150 W).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connecteur 12VHPWR vers adaptateur 3 x 8 broches dans une charge d’essai de 450W :
1 connecteur 8 broches = 25,34 A ou 282,4 W (augmentation de 88 % par rapport \u00e0 la valeur nominale de 150 W)
1 connecteur 8 broches = 7,9 A ou 94,8 W (dans les limites de la puissance nominale de 150 W)
1 connecteur 8 broches = 6,41 ou 76,92 W (dans la limite de la puissance nominale de 150 W).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u2019est contre cette augmentation de la puissance que le PCI-SIG met en garde ses partenaires. Ses \u00e9quipes vont d\u00e9terminer si elle pr\u00e9sente des risques pour le syst\u00e8me et l\u2019utilisateur. L’organisme devrait publier son verdict d’ici quelques jours.<\/p>\n\n\n
