L’USB-IF (USB Implementer’s Forum) a r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9taill\u00e9 les sp\u00e9cifications officielles de sa norme USB4 2.0<\/a> et publi\u00e9 les nouveaux logos de certification “USB 80 Gbps”. Dans la plupart des cas, ce standard propos effectivement une vitesse de 80 Gbit\/s. Cependant, la version 2.0 de l\u2019USB4 peut potentiellement d\u00e9livrer jusqu\u2019\u00e0 120 Gbit\/s dans une direction (configuration asym\u00e9trique) et 40 Gbit\/s dans l\u2019autre.<\/p>\n\n\n

Dans la foul\u00e9e de ces annonces, Intel a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 son Thunderbolt “nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration” (Thunderbolt 5). La norme s\u2019aligne sur les sp\u00e9cifications de l\u2019USB4 2.0 et du Display Port 2.1. Ainsi, tandis que les normes Thunderbolt 3 et 4 autorisent 40 Gbit\/s maximum, le Thunderbolt nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration promet aussi jusqu\u2019\u00e0 120 Gbit\/s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

USB4 2.0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Pour m\u00e9moire, l\u2019USB4 a fait ses d\u00e9buts en 2019<\/a> et supporte des d\u00e9bits de 40 Gbit\/s. L\u2019USB4 2.0 double donc ces d\u00e9bits et autorise m\u00eame 120 Gbit\/s avec une liaison descendante de 40 Gbit\/s, principalement pour les \u00e9crans tr\u00e8s haute d\u00e9finition. La version 2.0, compatible DisplayPort 2.1, peut ainsi g\u00e9rer un flux 4K \u00e0 240 Hz ou 10K \u00e0 60 Hz sans compression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plut\u00f4t que les num\u00e9ros de version, l’USB-IF souhaite que les produits certifi\u00e9s commercialis\u00e9s affichent directement un logo renseignant la vitesse maximale. Dans cette optique, les fabricants apposeront des logos USB 5 Gbps, USB 10 Gbps, USB 20 Gbps, USB 40 Gbps, ou USB 80 Gbps. Idem pour la puissance d\u00e9livr\u00e9e (60 W \/ 240 W).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les dispositifs USB4 ne sont toujours pas l\u00e9gion, donc n\u2019attendez pas les appareils \/ c\u00e2bles USB4 2.0 avant plusieurs mois. En outre, beaucoup de produits USB sont commercialis\u00e9s sans \u00eatre certifi\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thunderbolt 5<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Intel “a fait la d\u00e9monstration d’un prototype pr\u00e9coce de la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de Thunderbolt en action, align\u00e9 sur la publication par l’USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) de la sp\u00e9cification USB4 v2 cette semaine”. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9cise ainsi : “La nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de Thunderbolt offrira une bande passante bidirectionnelle de 80 gigabits par seconde (Gbps) et permettra jusqu’\u00e0 120 Gbps pour une exp\u00e9rience d’affichage optimale, offrant ainsi une capacit\u00e9 jusqu’\u00e0 trois fois sup\u00e9rieure aux technologies actuelles pour r\u00e9pondre aux besoins croissants des cr\u00e9ateurs de contenu et des joueurs, tout en maintenant la compatibilit\u00e9 avec les versions pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes de Thunderbolt et d’USB”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
