Le DLSS 3.0<\/a> (Deep Learning Super Sampling<\/em>) utilise un m\u00e9canisme de Frame Generation<\/em> qui g\u00e9n\u00e8re de nouvelles images via l’IA. Comme toujours, l’objectif est d’augmenter le nombre d’images par seconde, y compris lorsque les performances sont brid\u00e9es par le CPU. Nos confr\u00e8res de chez Igor\u2019s LAB montrent que cette technologie ne se limite pas au DLSS mais qu’elle fonctionne avec d\u2019autres solutions d\u2019upscaling, \u00e0 savoir le FSR d\u2019AMD et l\u2019Intel XeSS<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Avant tout, quelques explications sur le Frame Generation<\/em>. Pour r\u00e9sumer tr\u00e8s bri\u00e8vement, le DLSS 3.0 couple la partie super-\u00e9chantillonnage \u00e0 la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d\u2019images IA, en ajoutant une image g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9e par l\u2019IA entre deux images 3D “classiques”. Un bon moyen d\u2019augmenter les performances en somme, mais qui se fait au prix d’une latence d\u2019entr\u00e9e plus \u00e9lev\u00e9e. NVIDIA contre ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa technologie Reflex, d\u00e9sormais obligatoire pour les jeux DLSS 3.0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Optical Multi Frame Generation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Voici de plus amples d\u00e9tails communiqu\u00e9s par NVIDIA (traduction) :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019Optical Multi Frame Generation g\u00e9n\u00e8re des images enti\u00e8rement nouvelles, plut\u00f4t que de simples pixels, ce qui permet d’obtenir d\u2019importants gains de performance. Le nouvel acc\u00e9l\u00e9rateur de flux optique int\u00e9gr\u00e9 \u00e0 l’architecture NVIDIA Ada Lovelace analyse deux images s\u00e9quentielles dans le jeu et calcule les donn\u00e9es des vecteurs de mouvement pour les objets et les \u00e9l\u00e9ments qui apparaissent dans l’image, mais qui ne sont pas mod\u00e9lis\u00e9s par les vecteurs de mouvement traditionnels du moteur de jeu. Cela r\u00e9duit consid\u00e9rablement les anomalies visuelles lorsque l’IA rend des \u00e9l\u00e9ments tels que les particules, les reflets, les ombres et l’\u00e9clairage.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des paires d’images du jeu en super-r\u00e9solution, ainsi que les vecteurs de mouvement du moteur et du flux optique, sont ensuite introduits dans un r\u00e9seau neuronal convolutif qui analyse les donn\u00e9es et g\u00e9n\u00e8re automatiquement une image suppl\u00e9mentaire pour chaque image rendue par le jeu – une premi\u00e8re pour le rendu de jeu en temps r\u00e9el [\u2026].<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00c9tant donn\u00e9 que la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d’images DLSS s’ex\u00e9cute en tant que post-processus sur le GPU, elle peut am\u00e9liorer les taux d\u2019images m\u00eame lorsque le jeu est limit\u00e9 par le CPU.<\/em>“<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce qui est int\u00e9ressant, et qui permet l\u2019exp\u00e9rimentation relat\u00e9e ici, est qu’au sein du DLSS 3.0, NVIDIA distingue la composante Frame Generation<\/em> et la composante mise \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les r\u00e9sultats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Nos confr\u00e8res ont mis \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9preuve la GeForce RTX 4090<\/a> et un Core i9-12900K<\/a> en 2160p avec les r\u00e9glages max. Vous le constaterez, le FG booste le nombre d\u2019images par seconde avec le DLSS mais aussi avec l\u2019Intel XeSS et l’AMD FSR. En revanche, le FG n\u00e9cessite d\u2019\u00eatre utilis\u00e9 conjointement \u00e0 l\u2019une de ces technologies pour limiter les variations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nos confr\u00e8res concluent : “L’impl\u00e9mentation du FG de NVIDIA fonctionne avec le DLSS, mais aussi avec le FSR et l’XeSS des deux concurrents. Il n’y a pratiquement aucune diff\u00e9rence entre DLSS et FSR en mati\u00e8re de performances, seul l\u2019XeSS est un peu \u00e0 la tra\u00eene. [\u2026]”. Ils estiment que “si avec le FSR 3.0<\/a>, AMD parvient \u00e0 obtenir une impl\u00e9mentation aussi bonne pour les images g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9es par ce biais et l’offre \u00e9galement aux cartes graphiques plus anciennes ou m\u00eame aux cartes des concurrents”, l\u2019entreprise fera une tr\u00e8s bonne op\u00e9ration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
