Deux tests men\u00e9s par Puget Systems ont montr\u00e9 que la RTX 4090 \u00e0 1599 dollars faisait souvent aussi bien que la RTX 6000 \u00e0 6800 dollars<\/a>. Dans un article publi\u00e9 en milieu de semaine derni\u00e8re, traitant de diff\u00e9rents benchmarks multi-GPU sur des syst\u00e8mes AMD et Intel, l\u2019entreprise a toutefois rapport\u00e9 un probl\u00e8me avec la fonctionnalit\u00e9 P2P (peer-to-peer<\/em>) affectant la GeForce RTX 4090<\/a>. L\u2019auteur de l\u2019article constatait certaines d\u00e9faillances mais pensait que le P2P \u00e9tait bien disponible ; finalement, un employ\u00e9 de NVIDIA a indiqu\u00e9 que la GeForce RTX 4090 ne prenait pas en charge le P2P.<\/p>\n\n\n

Si pour le commun des utilisateurs, le P2P rime surtout avec partage de fichiers entre deux ordinateurs, dans le cas d\u2019un GPU, c\u2019est le m\u00eame principe, mais entre deux cartes graphiques. Cette fonctionnalit\u00e9 consiste simplement en une communication directe entre les deux GPU. Elle permet de transmettre des donn\u00e9es entre la m\u00e9moire des deux cartes graphiques, sans passer par la m\u00e9moire du syst\u00e8me. Un employ\u00e9 de NVIDIA a r\u00e9pondu sur forums de l\u2019entreprise \u00e0 des utilisateurs qui s\u2019interrogeaient sur l\u2019impossibilit\u00e9 d\u2019activer le P2P : \u00ab Salut \u00e0 tous. Toutes nos excuses pour le retard. Le feedback de l’ing\u00e9nierie est que le Peer to Peer n’est pas pris en charge par la GeForce RTX 4090. Les applications\/pilotes ne devraient pas rapporter cette carte comme \u00e9tant capable de faire du Peer to Peer. Le probl\u00e8me est en train d’\u00eatre corrig\u00e9 et les futurs pilotes signaleront ce qui suit \u00e0 la place [\u2026] \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce post l\u00e8ve donc toute ambigu\u00eft\u00e9, et confirme le fait que pour NVIDIA, les cartes graphiques GeForce ciblent surtout les joueurs et le grand public. De fait, la GeForce RTX 3090 ne supporte d\u00e9j\u00e0 pas le P2P. D’ailleurs, afin que les int\u00e9grateurs syst\u00e8mes et les professionnels s\u2019orientent vers les GPU Quadro ou simplement RTX d\u00e9sormais, NVIDIA fait \u00e9galement la chasse aux versions blower des GeForce RTX 3090 et RTX 4090<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme nous l\u2019\u00e9crivons en d\u00e9but d\u2019article, lorsque vous avez une GeForce RTX 4090 \u00e0 1599 dollars capable de rivaliser avec une une RTX 6000 \u00e0 6800 dollars, il faut bien trouver le moyen d\u2019orienter certains clients vers la seconde, sans pour autant brider drastiquement les performances, au risque d\u2019\u00eatre battu par la concurrence. La strat\u00e9gie de NVIDIA, mais comme celle d\u2019Intel ou d\u2019AMD pour d\u2019autres produits : restreindre certaines fonctionnalit\u00e9s. De mani\u00e8re purement artificielle et arbitraire dans le cas pr\u00e9sent, puisque les RTX 6000 et les GeForce RTX 4090 partagent le m\u00eame GPU, l\u2019AD102.<\/p>\n\n\n\t
