La vision d’Intel pour le Thunderbolt est de simplifier l’exp\u00e9rience de connectivit\u00e9<\/strong>. Le Thunderbolt 5 s’inscrit dans cette m\u00eame volont\u00e9 : un seul type de connecteur USB-C<\/strong> suffit, et une seule sorte de c\u00e2ble permet de connecter diff\u00e9rents types d’appareils tels que des \u00e9crans ou des supports de stockage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le Thunderbolt 5 permet une connectivit\u00e9 avec plus d’accessoires, y compris ceux dot\u00e9s de technologies telles que le DisplayPort 2.1, l’USB4 2.0 jusqu’\u00e0 80 Gbps<\/a> ou le PCIe 4.0<\/strong>. La vitesse, la connectivit\u00e9 vid\u00e9o et la gestion de l’\u00e9nergie sont \u00e9galement am\u00e9lior\u00e9es. Avec des charges allant jusqu’\u00e0 240 W pour les ordinateurs et jusqu’\u00e0 15 W pour les accessoires, les c\u00e2bles d\u2019alimentation suppl\u00e9mentaires<\/strong> des moniteurs et des ordinateurs portables deviennent inutiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L’une des am\u00e9liorations les plus notables concerne la gestion de la vid\u00e9o<\/strong>. Avec le Thunderbolt 5, il est possible de prendre en charge jusqu’\u00e0 trois \u00e9crans avec des taux de rafra\u00eechissement allant jusqu’\u00e0 540 Hz, deux \u00e9crans 8K <\/strong>ou trois \u00e9crans 4K avec un taux de rafra\u00eechissement atteignant 144 Hz. De plus, cette interface est compatible avec les GPU externes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La bande passante du Thunderbolt 5 marque un grand pas en avant : 80 Gbps<\/strong> en permanence<\/a>, et une gestion dynamique de la bande passante allant jusqu’\u00e0 120 Gbps en cas d’utilisation intensive des liaisons vid\u00e9o et de donn\u00e9es<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les premiers ordinateurs portables \u00e9quip\u00e9s de Thunderbolt 5 devraient \u00eatre ceux bas\u00e9s sur l’architecture Meteor Lake d’Intel<\/strong><\/a>, tandis qu’Apple pr\u00e9voit d’adopter cette norme un peu plus tard en 2024 pour \u00e9quiper ses MacBook haut de gamme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
