L’av\u00e8nement des ordinateurs faisant un usage avanc\u00e9 de l\u2019intelligence artificielle<\/strong> encourage les constructeurs \u00e0 proposer de nouvelles puces et processeurs<\/a> pouvant tirer avantage de cette technologie.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les PC Copilot+ de Microsoft<\/strong> aliment\u00e9s par les Snapdragon X <\/strong>semblent \u00eatre les h\u00e9rauts de ce nouvel eldorado IA. Afin de ne pas prendre trop de retard, la quasi-totalit\u00e9 des entreprises de microprocesseurs semble donc en train de pr\u00e9parer leur r\u00e9ponse<\/strong> au SoC de Qualcomm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AMD a ses nouveaux Ryzen AI 300 plus performants et intelligents<\/a>. NVIDIA, de son c\u00f4t\u00e9, vient tout juste de pr\u00e9senter ses RTX AI Laptop<\/strong> accompagn\u00e9s de G-Assist, un assistant de jeu dop\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019IA<\/a>. Face \u00e0 cette concurrence, Intel se devait de r\u00e9agir et \u00e0 l\u2019occasion du Computex 2024, la firme a pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 en bonne et due forme sa nouvelle gamme de CPU Lunar Lake.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette nouvelle architecture, qui met l\u2019accent sur l’efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique<\/a>, sera disponible \u00e0 la fois sur le segment mobile et desktop<\/strong> de la firme. Elle promet, selon Intel, des performances am\u00e9lior\u00e9es<\/strong> notamment en ce qui concerne les graphismes et l\u2019IA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les Lunar Lake sont des processeurs compos\u00e9s de E-Core Skymont<\/strong> (efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique) et de P-Core Lion Cove<\/strong> (performances) configur\u00e9s en 4 par 4. Ils disposent \u00e9galement d\u2019une architecture GPU Intel Xe2<\/a> mais aussi d\u2019un NPU de quatri\u00e8me g\u00e9n\u00e9ration<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce dernier pouvant d\u2019ailleurs atteindre 48 TOPS<\/strong>, ce qui semble suffisant pour faire fonctionner correctement la plupart des fonctionnalit\u00e9s IA des PC Copilot+<\/strong>. Un tel NPU peut en effet g\u00e9rer des t\u00e2ches complexes<\/strong> sans \u00eatre d\u00e9pendant du CPU et du GPU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cela permet \u00e0 ces deux composants de souffler un peu<\/strong> et donc de proposer des performances sup\u00e9rieures dans leurs domaines respectifs. Par exemple, la puce Xe2 bas\u00e9e sur Battlemage, d’apr\u00e8s ses concepteurs, promet une am\u00e9lioration de 80%<\/strong> des performances graphiques.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les Lunar Lake sont cens\u00e9s am\u00e9liorer la gestion du ray tracing<\/strong> mais aussi de l\u2019XeSS, la technologie d\u2019upscaling d\u2019Intel<\/strong>. De plus, l\u2019iGPU permettrait une compatibilit\u00e9 avec le codec vid\u00e9o VVC H.266. Ces nouveaux CPU prendront \u00e9galement en charge une m\u00e9moire LPDDR5x de 32 Go.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019un des arguments de vente des Lunar Lake est leur efficacit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique<\/a>. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation des E-Core Skymont<\/strong>, l\u2019entreprise affirme offrir une augmentation de l’autonomie<\/strong> des machines pouvant atteindre 60%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

De plus, Intel aurait divis\u00e9 par trois la consommation<\/strong> des PC utilisant ces Lunar Lake en comparaison avec les processeurs provenant des g\u00e9n\u00e9rations pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes. Enfin, l’int\u00e9gration de l\u2019architecture Lion Cove<\/strong> permet \u00e0 Intel d\u2019am\u00e9liorer l\u2019IPC de ses CPU de 14%<\/strong> par rapport au P-Core Redwood Cove des puces Meteor Lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les processeurs Lunar Lake devraient \u00eatre disponibles sur les PC de bureau<\/strong> en plus des ordinateurs portables. Leur lancement est planifi\u00e9 pour le troisi\u00e8me trimestre de l\u2019ann\u00e9e <\/strong>2024, probablement entre juillet et septembre.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
